The College of Saint Benedict golf team finished their fall season ranked 14th nationally in head-to-head standings according to GolfStat. The Blazers recorded a team average 336.25 over the fall and finished in second place at the MIAC championships.

Starting the day in second place, the College of Saint Benedict made sure their would be no upsets bids in their attempt to finish in the top two in the MIAC, shooting a final round team score 332 to stay in second at 1014. The team finished ahead of third place Saint Thomas by 11 strokes fourth place Saint Olaf by 21 strokes. Gustavus Adolphus retained the women’s title with their three day total of 968.

The College of Saint Benedict came together as a team in jumping up to second place this afternoon at Bunker Hills Golf Course, site of the MIAC Championships. The teams now holds a six stroke lead over the University of Saint Thomas and Carleton College.

A tough day of golf for all MIAC teams this afternoon at Bunker Hills Golf Course left some high numbers on the scorecard and plenty of room for moving up in the standings as day one of the 2009 MIAC Championships got underway. As a team the College of Saint Benedict fired a score of 346, leaving them in third place; six strokes behind second place Saint Thomas.

The College of Saint Benedict golf team has been ranked 18th in the latest Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll released this past week. The Blazers head into the MIAC chapionships this weekend ranked ahead of divison rivals Carleton, and the University of Saint Thomas. The Blazers have finished no worse than fourth in any tournament during the fall season.

In their final tune-up before the MIAC championships next week, the College of Saint Benedict finished in third place today in the Blazer Fall Classic. The team finished behind only Saint Cloud State University and the University of Saint Thomas after firing a two day team score of 701.
