The College of Saint Benedict softball team was shutout twice by Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday afternoon in the final two games of the 2010 season.  The Gusties defeated the Blazers 10-0 in game one and took the nightcap 5-0.

The University of St. Thomas shutout the College of Saint Benedict softball team twice Wednesday evening in St. Paul, Minn.  The Tommies defeated the Blazers 8-0 in the opener and 6-0 in the nightcap.

The College of Saint Benedict softball team came up short in a pair of games Tuesday evening against Bethel University.  Both teams entered the doubleheader with a 9-7 record in the MIAC.  The Royals prevailed in the opener with a 6-4 victory in ten innings and completed the sweep with a 8-4 win in the nightcap.

Senior shortstop Shannon Eveland (Maple Grove, MN, Maple Grove) was selected MIAC Player of the Week after leading the CSB softball team to a 5-1 record and batting .524 for the week.  Eveland hit her first career home run to give the Blazers a 3-2 victory over Saint Mary's University in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon and scored the game-winning run in the nightcap to help the Blazers complete the sweep.

A pair of walk-off hits helped the College of Saint Benedict softball team win a pair of extra inning games Sunday afternoon over Saint Mary's University.  Senior shortstop Shannon Eveland (Maple Grove, MN, Maple Grove) hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the Blazers a 3-2 win in the opener, and junior pitcher Elle Borba (Ontario, CA, St. Lucy's Priory) hit an RBI single in the eighth inning as CSB took the nightcap 7-6.  The Blazers hit a total of four home runs on the afternoon and extended their winning streak to five games.

4.22.10 | Women's Softball
The College of Saint Benedict softball team used a stellar offensive performance Thursday evening at Macalester College to earn their first MIAC doubleheader sweep of the season.  The Blazers (7-7 MIAC, 12-16 overall) collected an impressive 18 hits in the opener to take the game 8-1 and held off a late rally by the Scots to secure game two 6-5.
