CSB Rallies Past St. Catherine, 2-0
The College of Saint Benedict Blazer soccer team (4-3-0 MIAC, 6-5-1 overall) used two second half goals to defeat St. Catherine University (1-5-2 MIAC, 4-6-3 overall) on Tuesday afternoon in St. Paul, MN.

Sophomore Heather Beshears (Maple Grove, MN, Maple Grove) scored her fifth goal of the season and sophomore Stephanie Gibbs (Plymouth, MN, Robbinsdale Armstrong) tallied her first goal in 2009 to lead Saint Benedict.

Junior goalkeeper Maija Schmelzer (Rochester, MN, John Marshall) received the win at the net for CSB, collecting three saves in the process.

The Blazers return home for non-conference action against Wisconsin-Stout on Thursday, October 15th at 4 pm in St. Joseph, MN.

Danielle Busch
This week's Blazer Athlete of the Week is junior Danielle Busch (New Prague, MN, New Prague). Busch took first in the pole vault last Saturday with a height of 3.45 meters. This height is higher than where Busch started last season and is the best performance in the conference this season.
