Blazers' Win Streak Snapped by Scots, 0-2
The College of Saint Benedict Blazer soccer team (6-4-0 MIAC, 10-6-1 overall) saw their six game win streak, and potentially a berth in the MIAC Playoffs, disappear in a 0-2 loss to Macalester College (6-3-1 MIAC, 11-4-2 overall) on Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph, MN.

The Scots jumped out to an early lead on an unassisted goal made by junior forward Emily Bardwell.  The Blazers continued to put pressure on the Macalester defense, but nine saves made by first-year goalkeeper Rosie Glenn-Finer preserved the lead.  Bardwell put the game out of reach in the last-minute with another unassisted goal, her 11th of the season.

Senior forward Alison Tourville (Plymouth, MN, Robbinsdale Armstrong) led Saint Benedict with three shots, and senior goalkeeper Shannon Strohm (Burnsville, MN, Apple Valley) recorded four saves in the loss at the net.

The Blazers are now in a three-way tie for fourth place with Carleton and St. Olaf.  In order to advance to the MIAC playoffs, CSB will need to defeat Concordia in their last regular season game and have a combination of events to occur.

CSB will face the Cobbers on Saturday, October 31st at 1 pm in Moorhead, Minnesota.
