Tough Day Leaves Blazers in Third
A tough day of golf for all MIAC teams this afternoon at Bunker Hills Golf Course left some high numbers on the scorecard and plenty of room for moving up in the standings as day one of the 2009 MIAC Championships got underway. As a team the College of Saint Benedict fired a score of 346, leaving them in third place; six strokes behind second place Saint Thomas.

The Blazers were led by sophomore Kathryn Hauff (Fargo, ND, Shanley) and junior Sarah Hupperts (North Oaks, MN, Mounds View), both who fired an 85 to leave them in a tie for seventh individually. Senior April Dammann (Glencoe, MN, Glencoe-Silver Lake) closely followed with an 88, leaving her tied for 18th overall. First-year Molly Knutson (Edina, MN, Edina) score of 89, leaves her in 23rd place individually. Junior Nadia Christensen (Tyler, MN, Marshall) rounded out the Blazers with a 96, putting her in 38th place individually.

The Blazers are back on the course tomorrow with tee times starting at 12:48.
