Blazers Swimming and Diving Participate in the 2009 Ted Mullins "Hour of Power"

The College of Saint Benedict Swimming and Diving team welcomed Jim Mullin to their campus Tuesday, Nov. 10th to speak about his nephew Ted Mullins’ “Hour of Power “swim-a-thon. The Swim-a-thon is held in honor of former Carleton swimmer Edward H. “Ted” Mullin, who passed away from a rare soft-tissue cancer in 2006.
The relay was first held in 2006 to raise money for sarcoma research and has since helped establish and fund the Ted Mullin pediatric sarcoma research program at the University of Chicago by raising over $112,000.In 2006, 15 teams took part in the first ever “Hour of Power,” there is now 6,200 athletes from 127 teams that take part in the annual swim-a-thon.
