Blazers Swimming and Diving Falls to Dragons
Carolyn Triggs

The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team returned to the pool to compete against Minnesota State University Moorhead. Despite a solid effort from the Blazers it was the Dragons who pulled out a 127 to 97 victory on Friday evening at Saint John’s University.

Highlighting the night for the Blazers was sophomore Carolyn Triggs (Edina, MN, Edina). Triggs earned first place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:00.88 min.), the 500 freestyle (5:30.03) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:45.77). First-year Samantha Kessler (Plymouth, MN., Providence Academy), first-year Sophia May (North Pole, AK., North Pole High School) and first-year Mary Wood (Rochester, MN., Rochester Lourdes High School) were the other three members of the 400 freestyle relay team that placed first. The other top finisher for the Blazers was senior Abbey Brau (Eden Prairie, MN, Eden Prairie) who won the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:14.18.

The Blazers will look to avenge this loss when they meet the Dragons on Saturday Nov. 7th at Saint John’s University.
