Nowak Nabs Personal Best as Blazers Finish Sixth

Racing in the first portion of the NCAA Central Regional Championship yesterday in Houghton, MI the College of Saint Benedict finished sixth overall with 53 points. Finishing above the likes of Saint Scholastica, Saint Olaf, and Saint Cloud State, the Blazers entered today’s 10K freestyle portion confident they could duplicate their results

Junior Christi Nowak (Dayton, MN, Rogers) continued her outstanding season by placing a personal best 16th place. Her time of 19:04.7 was her best classical finish of the three-year colligate career. Junior Anna Roessler (Grand Rapids, MN, Grand Rapids) and senior Maggie Donahue (Plymouth, MN, Wayzata) also contributed to the Blazers overall point total. Roessler finished with a time of 19:21.8 putting her in 20th place while Donahue’s time of 20:20.8 left her in 33rd place.

The Blazers close out their season today with the 10K freestyle competition.

Julia Renner
Renner placed first and second in the triple jump and long jump respectively at the MIAC Championships.  Her winning jump of 11.23 meters in the triple jump met an NCAA provisional mark as well.
