Blazers in Fifth at MIAC Championships
The College of Saint Benedict outdoor track and field team is in fifth place after the first day of competition at the MIAC Championships with 23 total points.  The meet resumes on Saturday, April 9th at 1 pm in Northfield, MN.

First-year Julia Renner (Shoreview, MN, Mounds View) contributed with second and ninth place finishes in the long jump and high jump, respectively.  Senior Mary Schletty (St. Paul, MN, Cretin-Derham Hall) also had strong performances, placing third in the long jump and fourth in the high jump.

Several Blazers qualified for finals on the second day of competition, including sophomore Abby Neigebauer (Waseca, MN, Waseca) in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes.  Other athletes that qualified are sophomore Jillian Daleiden (Blaine, MN, Blaine) (400 meter dash), junior Alyx Chapman (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater Area) (1500 meter run), and the 4x100 meter relay team of Allison Eckrich (Spearfish, SD, Spearfish), Patty King (St. Paul, MN, Cretin-Derham Hall), Daledien and Neigebauer.

Athletes of the Week
Julia Renner
Renner placed first and second in the triple jump and long jump respectively at the MIAC Championships.  Her winning jump of 11.23 meters in the triple jump met an NCAA provisional mark as well.
