Blazers Finish Third
April Dammann

In their final tune-up before the MIAC championships next week, the College of Saint Benedict finished in third place today in the Blazer Fall Classic. The team finished behind only Saint Cloud State University and the University of Saint Thomas after firing a two day team score of 701.

Saint Benedict was led by senior April Dammann (Glencoe, MN, Glencoe-Silver Lake). Dammann final round score of 83 left her in a tie for fourth individually as she took advantage of two birdies on the front nine. Dammann was followed by junior Nadia Christensen (Tyler, MN, Marshall) who finished her solid weekend by firing an 88. Christenson finished in a tie for fourth individually. Junior Sarah Hupperts (North Oaks, MN, Mounds View) also placed for the Blazers, finishing in 12th individually. Despite a short game letdown over the weekend, Hupperts found her game off the tee in firing an 88 today. Firing her lowest collegiate round of her career, first-year Karlyn Sturtevant (Baldwin, WI, Baldwin) finished in 15th place individually after her round of 85 today. Stuartevant’s great round left her with a two day total of 180. Rounding out the Blazers was first-year Molly Knutson (Edina, MN, Edina). Knutson’s round of 91 today left her with a two day total 184 and in a tie for 20th individually.

Next weekend the Blazers are back in action at the MIAC Championships held at Bunker Hills Golf Course.
