Blazers Fall to Knights

The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team traveled to Northfield, MN to take on the Carleton Knights in a dual meet.  Despite many solid individual performances for the Blazers, it was the Knights, who would win meet by a score of 197 to 103.

The Blazers were highlighted by three individual victories coming from Samantha Kessler (Plymouth, MN., Providence Academy) in the 200 freestyle, Abbey Brau (Eden Prairie, MN, Eden Prairie)in the 500 freestyle and Elise Genereux (Mound, MN, Watertown-Mayer) who took home first place in the 1 meter diving.  

The loss puts the Blazers’ dual meet record at 2-2 on the season. They will look to bounce back Saturday Jan. 23 when they travel to Division II Saint Cloud State to take on the Huskies.

Athletes of the Week
Julia Renner
Renner placed first and second in the triple jump and long jump respectively at the MIAC Championships.  Her winning jump of 11.23 meters in the triple jump met an NCAA provisional mark as well.
