Blazer Nordic Ski Team Captures Fourth Place

The College of Saint Benedict Nordic Ski team came away with a fourth place finish at the Minnesota College Relays held at the SJU Trails in Collegeville, MN. The University of Alaska Fairbanks won the meet by taking the top two places to earn 23 total points. The Blazers used a fourth place and ninth place finish to score 13 points. CSB was edged out by the College of Saint Scholastic, who finished with 16 points, and Gustavus, who finished with 15.
Leading the Blazers was the relay team of senior
Christi Nowak (Dayton, MN, Rogers) and first-year
Megan Smith (Lakeville, MN, Lakeville North), who finished fourth overall with a time of 1:13.43. The CSB duo finished just one second behind the third place finishing team. Junior
Stephani Seymour (Plymouth, MN, Wayzata) and senior
Katelyn Engel (Plymouth, MN, Wayzata) also had a strong performance for the Blazers, as they finished ninth overall with a time of 1:19.41.
CSB will be back in action next weekend when they compete in the NCAA Qualifer #2 Classic 10K on January 23, 2010.
