Slow Start Dooms Blazers

BOX SCORE

Three first period goals proved to be the difference maker as the College of Saint Benedict (2-11-2, 0-6-2) fell 4-0 this afternoon at Gustavus Adolphus. The Blazers were able to hold their own limiting the top ranked Gusties to one goal the following two periods.

The team takes away many positives from the weekend series having contended with Gustavus for four out of six total periods.

Sophomore goalie Lauren Herzog (Mendota Heights, MN, Convent of the Visitation) started her second straight game for the Blazers once again holding her own in the net stopping 47 Gustie shots. Herzog stopped 91 total shots over the two-day period for the Blazers.

Junior center Gretchen Leyendecker (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) lead all Blazers with four shots recorded on net.

The Blazers are on the road next weekend in Moorhead, MN to take on Concordia College.  Game time is scheduled for 7 pm on Friday and 2 pm on Saturday.
