Blazers Cruise to Victory Over Cobbers

The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team traveled to Concordia College Friday Dec. 8. The Blazers earned 15 first-place finishes, as the defeat the Cobbers by a score of 231 to 66.

Individual first-place honors went to: Carolyn Triggs (Edina, MN, Edina) in the 1000 freestyle, Samantha Kessler (Plymouth, MN., Providence Academy) in the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle, Katie Kaiser (Dassel, MN., Dassel Cokato High School) in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke,Isabel Pennings (Hayden Lake, ID, Gonzaga Prep School) in the 50 freestyle, Chelsea Jenson (Plymouth, MN, Wayzata) in the 200 butterfly and 200 IM, Madeline Burns (Houston, TX., Saint Agnes Academy) in the 200 breaststroke, Abbey Brau (Eden Prairie, MN, Eden Prairie) in the 500 freestyle, Krista Barzen-Hanson (Grand Rapids, MN., Grand Rapids High School) in the 100 butterfly, Elise Genereux (Mound, MN, Watertown-Mayer) in 3 meter diving.

The Blazers return to action Saturday Dec. 9 at St. John’s University for the CSB/SJU Invitational.

Athletes of the Week
Julia Renner
Renner placed first and second in the triple jump and long jump respectively at the MIAC Championships.  Her winning jump of 11.23 meters in the triple jump met an NCAA provisional mark as well.
