Wrapping up their 2009-2010 campaign during their banquet last weekend the College of Saint Benedict (3-18-4, 1-13-4 MIAC) announced their team awards for the season.
Sophomore goalie
Lauren Herzog (Mendota Heights, MN, Convent of the Visitation) was named MVP of the Blazers capping off an impressive season during which she played 18 games posting a 2.99 GAA and .920 save percentage. Herzog started in the net 12 of the Blazers final 13 games.
First-year forward
Kaley Flynn (West St. Paul, MN, Henry Sibley High School) received the Most Improved award during a rookie season that saw her collect five points off of a goal and four assists.
Sophomore forward
Kelly Fladebo (Mora, MN, Cambridge-Isanti Mora) took home the Blazer Pride award for her gritty and consistent play on the ice. Fladebo finished with a goal and two assists on the year.
The Blazers also recognized sophomore forward
Kerri Graske (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater Area) and first-year defender
Catherine Pollock (Tonka Bay, MN, Hopkins High School), who both received MIAC Honorable Mention All-Conference for their stellar play throughout the season.
