Blog of Blazers in Italy: Day 6
VB Italy
May 17, 2010
Written by Liz Benson and Alex Lenzen

Ciao American friends and family!

Today we started our journey by traveling early this morning to Rome. After the 4 hours drive, we had a panoramic tour on the bus that served as an orientation to the city. It featured the highlights of the city and also allowed us to quickly visit the Coliseum and the Trevi fountain. At the foundation we were supposed to toss one coin in if we wanted to return to Rome, two coins in if we wanted to get married, and three coins for divorce. We continued the tour past Vatican city to our hotel. We can see the Basilica from where we are staying and plan to tour Vatican City and the Coliseum tomorrow. We also will be taking a team picture tonight in front of St. Peter’s Basilica and going to dinner at a local Roman ristorante. As of now the Amsterdam airport is closed due to volcanic ash. This is where we have our layover tomorrow so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we wish to return home safely tomorrow. Thank you! We love and miss you all and can’t wait to share our stories upon our return!
