Blazer Volleyball Earns Academic Honor

The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2009 season.

The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

CSB is one of five MIAC schools, 75 Division III schools and 450 collegiate and high school programs to receive the honor.  The other MIAC schools earning the award were Bethel University, Carleton College, St. Catherine University and Saint Mary’s University.

The Blazers tied for first in the MIAC and advanced to their third straight NCAA Tournament a year ago.

Athletes of the Week
Danielle Busch
This week's Blazer Athlete of the Week is junior Danielle Busch (New Prague, MN, New Prague). Busch took first in the pole vault last Saturday with a height of 3.45 meters. This height is higher than where Busch started last season and is the best performance in the conference this season.
